The Skukuza Golf Club takes pleasure in inviting you to enter our annual “Joke of the Lowveld” open Tournament, which will take place from the 1st to the 4th of May 2024.
The 2024 Tournament will start on Wednesday morning, the 1st of May 2024, with two fields being hosted each day. The fields will be set off on a “shotgun-start” basis each day, with prize giving being hosted at 18h30 and dinner at 19h00 at the Skukuza Golf Club. The daily competition format will be an individual Stableford. The overall trophy winner for each field will be handed out at each evening’s prize giving.
Excitedly, we have added an additional trophy for the 2024 event. Players who play 2 or more rounds of golf over the 4 days of the tournament will automatically be entered into the overall “Joke of Lowveld Trophy”, where we will take the best 2 scores to count with the player with the best combined score being our overall tournament winner. In the event of any ties, a count-back will take place using the second round as a start.
Please note that:
- You may only enter for ONE competition round per day.
- Ball spotters/caddies are not always available and players are requested to hire golf carts, or bring their own golf carts or light weight carry bags and not to bring their own outside caddies.
Entry fees for the Wednesday and Thursday rounds are R500 per player per competition round, with Friday and Saturday competition rounds being R600 per competition round and includes green fees, a “grab and go” halfway house meal with a water or soft drink and your player’s dinner each evening. If you would like to play the whole week the cost will be R2,000 per player.
Families and Supporters are encouraged to join us for our Joke of the Lowveld special menu promotions on the Golf Club Deck over the tournament week. Dinner bookings for non-golfers must please be booked, and paid for in advance, at R250 per adult and R120 for children (12 years and younger). Limited space is available so please pre-book to avoid disappointment.
As this is a 9-hole course we can only accommodate 52 players in each of the morning and afternoon competitions. Please note that entries are strictly on a first-come, first-serve basis with the closing date for entries being the 17th of April 2024.
NB: Every visitor/player is responsible for paying their park entrance fees. However, late permits will be available to Skukuza Rest Camp and Kruger Gate each evening.

A payment of R500-00 OR R600.00 per competition round must accompany the entry form. A discounted fee of R2000 is payable if you would like to play every day of the tournament.
*No refunds will be made for cancellations as of the 17TH of April 2024.
